Author Lynne Smelser Releasing the Novel In Our Veins November 19, 2012
“Terrorists may use biological agents because they can be extremely difficult to detect and
do not cause illness for several hours to several days.” (Center for Disease Control, website)
As flu season approaches, Americans begin to take the usual precautions…wash hands,
get flu shots, take vitamins. Each year, according to the CDC thousands will get
the flu. On an average year, 36,000 will die from it. What if a terrorist
decided to release a biological weapon that looked like the flu, but had
increased lethal potency? What if that biological weapon belongs the U.S. and
was accidentally released on American soil?
